Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Promenade Wine & Spirits ("we", "us") collects through promenadewines.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, and your password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form).
- Age confirmation: when you sign up we check that you are 21 or older. We record that your age was confirmed and when; we do not store your date of birth.
- Order information: items ordered, delivery address and instructions, payment method, order totals and status, and, for completed deliveries, whether ID was checked.
- Rewards: points balance and tier, linked to your account email and phone number.
- Site activity: products you search for and view, and basic technical data such as your device type, browser and IP address, which our hosting provider logs for security.
We do not collect or store your full card number on the Site. If card payments are added, they will be handled by a payment processor.
2. How we use it
- To create and secure your account, take and deliver your orders, and verify age and identity as the law requires.
- To run the rewards program and provide customer support.
- To keep the Site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve products and search.
- To send service messages about your account and orders. We will send marketing email or text messages only if you opt in, and every marketing message will include a way to unsubscribe.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that host and operate the Site (for example, our database and authentication provider, Supabase, and our email provider), who may process data only to provide their service to us.
- Our delivery staff, who receive your name, phone number, address and delivery instructions so they can complete your delivery.
- Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect rights, safety and prevent fraud, including records of alcohol sales we are required to keep.
- A successor business, if Promenade is sold or merged, subject to this policy.
4. Cookies and local storage
The Site uses browser storage that is necessary to keep you signed in, remember your cart and your age confirmation, and remember simple display choices. We do not use advertising trackers or session-recording tools, and we load fonts and scripts from our own servers.
5. How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is open. Order records are retained as long as needed for tax, accounting and alcohol-sale record-keeping obligations. After you delete your account, we keep past orders only as anonymised sales records (your name, phone number and street address are removed from them).
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: view and update your name and phone number in My Account on the Site.
- Deletion: use My Account → Delete account to permanently delete your login, profile, saved addresses and cart. If you have an order in progress, cancel it or wait for delivery first. Your in-store rewards membership stays under your phone number unless you ask us to remove it.
- Marketing: unsubscribe using the link in any marketing message, or tell us at the store.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to request a copy of your information or to object to certain uses. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time after verifying your identity.
7. Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections and other reasonable safeguards, and our database restricts each customer to their own data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
8. Children
The Site is for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the current version. If we make material changes we will post a notice on the Site.
